Indoor Bowls at Club Mount Maunganui

Club Mount Maunganui is home to one of the most active indoor bowls communities in the Bay of Plenty. Operating as an adjunct to Club Mount, our indoor bowls programme welcomes players of all ages and skill levels for a season that runs from February through October each year. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or picking up a bowl for the first time, you will find a friendly and supportive environment at our club.

A Proud Bowling Tradition

Our indoor bowls adjunct has a strong competitive heritage. Club Mount is the proud home club of former New Zealand representative players Fiona Keegan, Mike Phipps, and Paul Smith. That pedigree filters through to every club night, where experienced players are always happy to share tips and help newcomers develop their skills. We operate under the guidance of the Tauranga Indoor Bowls Association Inc. and maintain affiliation with New Zealand Indoor Bowls (NZIB).

What We Offer

Our indoor bowls programme features casual club nights that alternate throughout the season, giving members regular opportunities to play in a relaxed social setting. For those looking to test themselves at a higher level, we also host Association Qualifying events that feed into regional and national competitions. All ages are welcome and accommodated, making indoor bowls at Club Mount a great activity for families, retirees, and everyone in between.

Facilities and Social Scene

One of the best things about indoor bowls at Club Mount is the full clubhouse experience. Our licensed restaurant and bar serve light meals and drinks before games, so arrive by 6:45pm to grab a bite before play begins. After your game, stick around to enjoy a drink with fellow bowlers in the bar. It is this combination of sport and social connection that keeps our members coming back season after season.
